When do model years start production in Europe? Here I know it's June, and delivery in Oct for years. I wonder if they have suddenly decided to change for this vehicle- to throw a monkey wrench in the works.

Production is supposed to launch in June of this year, according to my inside source at Wayne.

Fiesta was released in october in west EU while in Croatia it was available 4-5 months later. Croatia Ford dealer told me that MkIII Focus is coming in early 2011 so I guess west EU will get it in semptember I guess...

Offical Fiesta info from Ford N.A. The order bank for the 2011 Fiesta opens 1/4/2010, with a job 1 date of 4/26/2010.

If there are little to zero early production problems, I'd say cars should start showing up in the showrooms late June 2010.

Regarding the 2012 Focus, inside sources latest info is the Focus Job 1 for North America is December, sorry no exact day date as of yet. Being that December has numerous down time because of the Christmas break, production will most likely not get up to full steam until mid January, and again if there are no early production glitches, cars should start rolling into showrooms in March.

As far as Europe Job 1 dates I have no idea, but model year cars generally start showing up in showrooms late August, beginning of September in the big markets such as UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain etc, and the smaller markets like Z_interactive mentions, October.
Just remembered the Kuga launched in June, so launch dates seem to be all over the calender.

But the 2012 Focus is not being launched at the traditional time. I understand Europe and North America will be within a week of each others launch dates.
Lets see is more solid info comes out at the March Geneva Motor Show. opening is March 4.

What an amazing looking vehicle for THAT price range.

Hmmm, I'd have to be really, really impressed with the fully loaded version if it's sticker is near $30k. Such as, this is so much cooler than me buying a 2 year old 335i territory.

The Fiesta and Focus BOTH look absolutely fabulous and what about those interiors, again in THAT price range. Wow.

Oh! regarding price for the new focus. If you want to dial back to the Mulally interview, he quite plainly states that the new focus price target is 17K to 22K (Unless I am totally loosing it). Also, The eco-boost I4 is still under development, although I cannot recall where I got that tid-bit of info (remember that the emission and safety rules for NA are tougher than the Euro cars). Also, quite bitching about no diesel as sales for these cars in the USA are miserable. Maybe a group-memory hangover from the Rabbit has been suggested by one pundit. Personally, for all you critics, if you look at the potential the new focus offers, well maybe its not so bad!
