I read through the first 5 pages and haven't seen...anyone know the estimated MPG numbers?

I'm considering buying a Fusion Hybrid next year, however I've intentionally been waiting for the new Focus design. I'm really liking the 5 door sedan look right now, but the MPG numbers could sway me one way or the other for sure.

Cracking $20k after loading it with options sounds reasonable to me, hopefully it's not much higher than that.

I am very much a 'Hatch' person, but I think I have to agree with you. There is something not right with the tail end on the hatch. If I had to define it, i would have to say it reminds me of a SUV or old style station wagon. The more I look at the hatch, the more I don't like the tail (and I am trying to like it). It has no 'pop'.

Well went to the Auto show yesterday. And some Ford guys talking about the Ecoboost doing a presentation and I did hear them talking about the "new I4 2.0 single turbo, don't have power numbers yet, but will be in the new Focus".... just what I heard. Made me really excited.

Also it looks even better in person. Love the front end now A LOT.

Ya the front end kind of reminds me of the new mazda front end. Thats what is selling me on it.

I am realy digging the new Focus. It looks very sporty from the front. I think the sedan looks a little better than the hatch. But that being said I would buy the hatch over the sedan. I cant wait to see one in person. I also hope there is a SVT Focus with the Ecoboost 2.0 motor. Now that would be awsome.

I came thisclose to buying a Fusion Hybrid, instead of the '10 SES Sedan. 5,000 more than the somewhat nicely equipped Focus I was looking at, and the realization that the 5K more would not net me a thing with electric, since 98 percent of my commute is highway driving, caused me to buy a loaded '10 SES sedan, instead.

Had I lived in town, the Hybrid would be in my garage, no question.

The somewhat better mileage the Focus has over the gas Fusion, cinched it, along with needing a change from my wife's Fusion, she had since '06. I went from a jeep Cherokee Laredo to the Focus. Getting used to a smaller car was ruffling, but my wife did it also this year, with a Fit purchase, with the Fusion trade-in.

40+ mpg hwy...no word on city tho. Its supposed to best everyone else and since the chevy cruze will get 40 ford needs to match that or be better. Dont be surprised if a loaded focus is cracking 25k especially with all the tech and features. The Fiesta loaded cracks 20k its about 22k. Now the focus is a bigger car so add a thousand or two to that and we talking loaded focus which is going to have a leather dash, self parking, 4 wheel disc with regenrative braking, rain sensing wipers, myford touch. That stuff is not cheap lol. To be honest now that i think about it if ford somehow can get all that i to a car 25k or less then that is damn good. Cause now that i think about it I wouldnt be surprised to see a focus loaded wih everything be hitting 27k, especially if it had like ecoboost.

ok so not sure if this one has been mentioned, im sure it has but sooooo many posts to read through...

What does ford have against a 2.0 ecoboost in the focus!?! From what i read they are expecting 180 HP out of the 1.6 and 20 more for the 2.0 checks in at about 160???

Come on guys... considering the price jump that taurus takes when u slap an ecoboost on it i think the focus deserves a little more bite if the price jump is gonna be comperable.

Boom Shacka Lacka, Shacka Lacka, Shacka Boom!

Maybe I won't buy a 2011 Mustang, or a Challenger R/T for my next ride...

May I suggest that the Gov keeps moving the goal posts, making Ford and other manufacturers reluctant to announce future products. This is essentially what Lutz was complaining about regarding the volatile nature of fuel prices as well. There is still no sort of international pollution agreement, but they keep having meeting on it and declaring 'something must be done'.
Hell if I was making the cars I would be sweating bullets!
Plus the fact that you never want to cannibalize current sales with a to-early announcement of the 'good stuff'.
