Add this to the Focus history (the 2012 is making history already)

Autoblog basically said the same thing. Im listening to the podcast now and I found out that the trim level at the autoshow will translate to the titanium interior package. The stitching u see on the dash is not just stitched plastic....its leather. Leather dash on a focus, hell a ford, hell a c segment car....that is awesome.

i must be the only one that really thinks that this car looks like everything else out there. Im just not impressed. sorry with the buildup of this car i was expecting a car that looked more like a rally-type design, rather than a lame car. It really doesnt excite me at all. 160 hp......huh this is 2010?...right? mazda has a 280 hp turbo 4. (dyno'd by DSPORT mag.) NO RS in the US, what the? I guess americans have to go import to get performance.......we're not good enough for the RS, just europe. Go FERD MOTORS.

I have yet to see where people understand that high HP does not equal fuel economy, which is WHAT the focus of the Focus is.

Yeah, I think the RS gets something like 19MPG, that would not fly at all for a Focus right off the bat. They have to set some standards first to get people interested and buying, then they could release a higher output model and get away with a little less MPG. But even then, they need to keep the overall MPG up there.

Its too early to tell for sure, but in order for Ford to stay competitive I estimate they will need to price this starting around $14k for the bone stock and around $22k for the fully loaded models.

Posted via FF Mobile Tom, how will that be possible? Thats pretty much the exact figures of the Fiesta. That would definitely hurt Fiesta sales. To be honest from what I see i think itll be more like 16k for no options base and up too 25-26k for a fully loaded one.

Valid point. But I didn't say that's the price Ford will have to sell it at, I'm saying in order to be competitive with other's in the same market, IE the Honda Civic($15k), KIA Forte($13K) and Toyota Corolla($15k) Ford will need to "focus" in that range.

A more performance oriented hatch could be released down the road whenever they decide to start production on a three door hatch variant.

If you want to start comparing this awesome new platform to the Mazdaspeed3, you should research the time gap from the first year the Mazda3 was released in North America. The MS3 didn't come out until 2007, so..... 3 years.
