yeah the 1.6L ecoboost engine is turbo, though an entirely different animal from the 2.5L turbo in the RS.

Honestly the 2.5L turbo duratec in the RS is really the main reason for me to buy a new Focus I likely won't settle for anything less then SVT/RS. In 2-3 years I'll be looking for either a new SVT focus or a mazdaspeed 3. Mazda has had a very good run with the MS3, in a couple years its time for a new FWD hot hatch Nice business line up for Mazda getting their money's worth out of the MS3, then by the time the global Focus comes around it'll be time for a revoknuckled SVT shortly after

Edited to remove my stupidity.

Just wondering because the first paragraph mentions four DI turbocharged engines and the second stating a 2.0L DI motor. Needed some confirmation to make sure that I wasn't reading that wrong.

Anyone notice that the "Fail" thread is a hell of a lot longer than the "Pass" thread??

Focus Fanatics complaining about what they don't like on the new Focus isn't going to persuade FoMoCo to change this globally-equal vehicle

Given I liked the old School Mazda 3's, this has a fairly similiar shape. We had an 02 Focus Sedan (SOHC) that wasnt to bad (needed more room/power and traded for an 07 Rav4).

Now that gas is starting to get retarded again, the mileage on my Maxima isnt cutting it. I am very curious to the interior space specs before I move forward in any manner but the design does have my attention. I feel the layout of the interior is also nice.

I like the Taurus, but the mileage of the Focus suits my "tastes" better at this time. So awaiting the "final numbers" of interior space and package pricing will be important. Now if I just could get my wife to drive a manual instead of an auto life would be so much more entertaining!

19" rims are a bit over done though IMHO. I would rather have some of the mileage back with lighter, less unsprung weight. Drop it a bit and put 17"s on her.

i dont quite understand your reason for liking/ not liking the new focus but i think youre getting at the kinetic design language is close to previous designs??? thats true in countries that got that style of the second focus. we didnt in the US so its a new look to us since we didnt really see the euro spec second gen on our roads, unless you live in a state that borders mexico i found out.

He's just saying he doesn't like change in a long drawn out format....lol j/k

Companies that have struggled with financial woes (read: overpaid crap design engineers) in the past should be doing these kinds of changes to keep up with the times. I agree that Ford could have stuck with vertical tails on the hatch to retain some sort of signature style, but unfortunately, that bodystyle represents a time where even Ford was struggling. So why not infuse some flair into the design to represent a new vision and approach to Ford in years to come?

It's a "Lead or get out of the way" setting in the auto industry, always has been and always will be.
