MyFord touch...implications during system failure...

There's also another thing which I'm curious about the Focus (or Ford in general)

I understand Ford is going crazy with all these techie stuff in the cars center console.

Not that I'm not impressed with this MyFord Touch features..but what I'm curious is more about the safety implications

What happens if a system failure occurs on the MyFord touch console? The A/C controls might be affected too..yikes!

I will not be surprised if most of you will stop short of grabbing the Focus with MyFord touch feature right away and more of give a response like "Maybe I'll wait and see how the system performs according to drivers' experiences"

And..another thing...all this techie stuff inside the new Focus..won't this be a major drain on the battery's life?

What amazes me is you all bitch an moan that there will be no 3 door hatch, yet when most of you want to jump ship to another car like the Mazda 3 or speed3 no one complains that there a 4 door hatch and no 3 door version. As for the most of the look just the back end I think needs a little bit more.

Why do I need to "take a stand" because I don't like this new version of the Focus?
And:
"It's not automatically whining if you say your peace and move on. If you're making a valid point about why you believe we should have a performance model, why it's important to you and moving the discussion forward then you're discussing. If you're just jumping in thread after thread and stating that not having an RS sucks and you're going to sell your car and never buy a Ford again in protest every time the subject is brought up then you're whining, IMO. I don't mean it as a personal attack, but it's not moving the discussion forward."
Don't quote me when I never said I was going to sell my Focus and Buy a Ford again.
Got me confused with someone else.

Judging from the pictures, it looks like the A/C controls are seperate from the touchscreen. They are lower down near the shifter with their own display. Battery life won't be affected much. I run a computer in my car that has a 160W power supply and I haven't had any problems with my battery, although I am running an Optima. I seriously doubt MyFord will pull anywhere near that much wattage.

A little more what?
Little more to make it look like a Pontiac Vibe?
I for one am not jumping ship.
I love my 02 and 07 Focus.
Which is when a Focus still looked and tried to be....a Focus.
Now it looks like its trying to be,what....a mid size luxury vehicle with lazy styling lines and cues from other failing auto makers?
Whatever...I'm done ranting about this new Focus.

Personally, I love the new Focus... But it's good to see that there can be such a divergence of opinion on this forum... I'm a Taurus owner and when I criticized the 2010 Taurus on the Taurus boards, I just about got hung in the town square....

Like I said, Deja vu. I so fondly remember when the the '08+ was compared to a saturn, lol. I will say that one potential negative I have is whether the automatic will be able to hold up with a turbo installed. I'm not all that confident in a dry clutch system.
