I don't get the belly-aching. It isn't an ugly car. Besides, that is subjective. If it looked like a Kia Rio I'd be behind you, but it doesn't.

Haha, just playing devil's advocate, but we haven't even gotten all of the model information, for all we know they'll announce tomorrow they are putting a jet engine in it...

Posted via FF Mobile People can not like things about the focus but make logical intelligent opinions. I dont like thetailights fine...but dont be like they didnt give me it all right now so im selling my focus and saying goodbye to the focus world. My beef isnt with negative critisim, but i do feel people are complaining too much on things they shouldnt be just yet. Its been out less then 24hours after all.

Here's the thing. The RS isn't exactly practical. Its a good Hot Hatch, but not in quite the same way as a GTI or even a Speed3. You can't really use it as a primary means of family transportation unless your family consists of you or you and your girlfriend/wife. At its heart it is a sports car, and a rather insane one at that.

The problem with that is that given the power and technology in a Focus RS, it will be going for around 30k. At that price the Focus RS is going to be socketed in the same price bracket as the Mustang GT. Nevermind the new V6-powered Mustang with track pack.

Given that, I just don't see where the RS would fall into Ford's line up, and I doubt we'll see the RS.
you do realize that a price of 30k would put it right in competition with the GTi-R. Try fully loading a regular GTi and it'll be over 30k.

I do agree that Ford will not bring over the RS that so many of us want b/c of the mustang but the price is nto the reason.

Posted via FF Mobile Thats not a good enough reason either...the mustang has never been the problem and Mullaly certainly doesnt feel that way. Before we didnt get an rs for the simple fact that we didnt have the same focus as the rest of the world. Also the taurus sho is the same price as a gt500? Just because something is the same price, performance oriented or not doesnt mean it competes with the other. The mustang is a rwd pony car amd the focus rs is a hot hatchback. And theyll handle and drive totally differently. And it wont compete with the v6 either bc again its a totally different car. People do buy cars for something other the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Dont fret we need to remeber that so far we have an awesomr new mkiii focus with an awesome platform to work with. The car is global and even tho ford will tailor certain models to certain markets thats pretty much tuning and a few things ..they pretty much wanna sell the same cars everywhere. Also we should remeber Team Rs and SVT are run by the same guy and are working together now. Any performance focus or ford that comes out will be created by both teams whether it be an st, svt, or rs. Hell i wouldnt be surprised if we dont get an RS...bc itll be called an svt instead, same car just different badge.
