I hate to burst the bubble of everyone who says there is no reason to not bring the RS to America, but there is.
It is called the Mustang. Here's the thing. The RS isn't exactly practical. Its a good Hot Hatch, but not in quite the same way as a GTI or even a Speed3. You can't really use it as a primary means of family transportation unless your family consists of you or you and your girlfriend/wife. At its heart it is a sports car, and a rather insane one at that. The problem with that is that given the power and technology in a Focus RS, it will be going for around 30k. At that price the Focus RS is going to be socketed in the same price bracket as the Mustang GT. Nevermind the new V6-powered Mustang with track pack. Given that, I just don't see where the RS would fall into Ford's line up, and I doubt we'll see the RS. |

All that being said, the RS won't be available in Europe for a couple years, so why would it be here any sooner? And likely the next RS in Europe will be a Fiesta, since they have to run Fiestas in WRC starting in 2012. We very well may see a performance Focus of some sort, 2013-2014 I would guess, with a 2.0 Eco-Boost and around 240-260hp... Probably an SVT. And remember, the RS that is out right now is the old European platform, so its on its way out.

It does come off as a personal attack though when accused of "whining" about a performance model. Since when is discussing your displeasure automatically dicatated as being "whining" about something? Personally,I could care less. Its not a performance model and thats fine. I Love my ST and just got a low mile zx3 as well. If and when the performance model shows up,than I will go to buy.
