2000 Focus Engine Swap

My engine blew and need to replace it. Looking for a used one now but need to know what years will swap straight across, and also whether a DOHC will work in place of a SOHC without issues hooking up peripherals. It's a 2000 Focus SE with SOHC. Thanks

I'm not 100 percent sure, but I believe thats the SPI and for it to be a direct swap it would have to be another SPI, If I'm thinking correctly

the only direct swap you will find is another spi. the zetec uses a different ecu, wiring harnesses are different, the exhaust is different and i think the power steering lines/pumps are different

Just drop in another SPI and drive it.

An spi is the way to go if you just want to drop one in to have a car. If you want to have something a little more fun and also have the time and know-how a zetec swap is a good choice. but it is all up to you.
