Water leak (Sedan)

I've got moisture in my carpet, right-rear passenger side. After a good rain last weekend, driver rear, too.

Any idea what could cause this on a sedan? So far all I have is blocked sunroof drain or bad weatherstripping. Trunk is bone-dry so it's not coming in that way. The front floors are dry, so I don't believe it to be an A/C issue or water leak at the cowl. (the cowl sits flush across the entire base of the windshield)

that's what I'm afraid of. Late-model Pontiac Bonneville guys had the same problem where the weatherstrip would shrink a little over time. You know what happens next...

Is that a known issue with the Focus? If so, do you think I'd be ok with a good bead of RTV or weatherstrip adhesive to better seal it off?
