how can i found out what number mine is as far as being made? I see everyone has in there signature saying #1234 out of whatever. How can i find mine?

New to the site, so please bear with me if i'm in wrong place. My husband has Ford Focus Auto DA, i'm trying to stop him having a heart attack!!!! Can anyone help with the problem of starting the car. The red light flashes, tries to turn over but doesn't. Eventually he gets it going. But frightened he will get stranded one day. Can anyone help with diagnosis? Thanks

check the spark plugs and wires first and replace as nessicary (these are the cheapest and easyest to replace) if thoes aint the problem try a new battery and last but not least the most expensive part of this lil helper is getting a NEW starter and belt!
(plugs $10-$25)
(wires as cheap as $30 but can go up to $80)
(belt for the starter $5-$15... $15 is a lil on the expensive side!)
(STARTER.... as cheap as $100 and can go to as much as $500! ouch!)
for my focus i usually spend about $400 for a new starterbut i do go thru the factory dealership so its like a 110%-300% markup....im such a tool! lol
