so....call me ignorant......but why exactly does front wheel drive render 300hp useless?

You are not ignorant, the people making the comment you are questioning are...

Posted via FF Mobile I dont think he has a cobalt ss. As good as it is in the twisties the RS will win, but the cobalt will not be far behind. The cobalt has a faster 0-60 time bc of tuning and it has no lift shifting, something that def takes tenths of your numbers. Also the fools dont know that the 2.0l turbo in the cobalt ss and other gm cars is underrated and both power and tq are very close to the 260 numbers so at the fly these cars are making close to what the RS does. Also dont doubt that guys legacy gt spec b...great handling cars amd very quick, with a little modding it could be as fast as any high performance car. I wouldnt be surprised if his 0-60 time is in the low 5s.

Why do people bash the Cobalt SS, I believe its Nurburgring time is faster than the Focus RS...

Edit*

Focus RS time: 8:26

Cobalt SS time: 8:22

So they RS would waste it???

Watch this, and then you tell me if 300hp is too much for front wheel drive... Yes 400 is more, but it is manageable, my point is you are stating opinions as fact.

Like its a fact, M3s are driven by dicks.

It's a fact, my mom makes better lasagna then your mom.

Posted via FF Mobile The suspension is good but it still doesnt totally eliminate tq steer. I think 400 would be a litle much for the car and it would probably perform better in all aspects except top speed and things like highway passing and such. On the tracks tho a 350hp rs would probably be much quicker then a 400hp one. High power isnt everything, its all about balance, the mazda miata and lotus elise are great examples.

You can keep it out of the power. If you don't drive like an amateur it will likely be faster, unless you happen upon some of those magical corners where your gearing is all wrong. I'd bet these mods make it quicker to spool so as long as your power curves aren't drastically altered, it should be faster.

Posted via FF Mobile True, the delievery and how that power is managed is very important as well.

They said in the original article that it made the power more usable.
