I wish I could go! Would've brought my bicycle with me just to get around the traffic mess. Too bad the big waves came on a weekday :(
And nothing wrong with being a Montanan watching surf videos. I bet it must be dreary up there on the mainland haha

I'm with you, Doug. Although I did grow up surfing on the east coast ... so that's the reason I still follow surfing closely. Bad part is that I get homesick - or should I say "oceansick"?
Surfing is a disease you never overcome. One day I hope to get back to the coast so I can get back on a board. Until then, I'll surf down a mountain.

I went a few times growing up, but as the waves had to be a certain height to hold the event, it wasn't on every year, sometimes years apart. Great waves this year, but I am far from Home
 Oh, I must respectfully disagree, a disease is bad for You, surfing is the best thing You can do to Yourself.

Yeah, it sure can, but I was there last February, and I just know I can't afford to live There, at least not yet. I will make it back. I feel that I need to go camping on the beach again. There is no better feeling,IMO, that compares to the sound of waves crashing on the beach, with the 70-something degree salt air in Your nose...

Well, Alaska and Hawai'i are the "Freak States", right? Funny, I still notice that when I see a commercial. It's like My eye is permanently trained to see the *Excludes Alaska and Hawai'i in the mice type...
