Fog Light Relay
Does anyone know that the part number is for the fog light relay? I had the fog light mod for a while until it melted so i'm done with that and trying to find a normal relay. I called Ford and they told me there isn't a fog light relay. Any help would be appreciated.

So with this you can run the foglights with the headlights off, (i.e. parking lights on?)

Im not sure if the original poster wired it to the stock headlight switch or a separate switch I do know that they did it this way to prevent overcurrent and possibly burning up the stock harness... its also setup (if run stock) that when you hit the highbeams the fogs turn off

Right, cool. Right now my fogs only come on with the headlights on, but won't with the parking lights, (when you pull the switch out.) This will be cool!
On my 2003, where do I replace this at?

err you wouldn't replace it unless the fogs don't turn on at all.. its located in the engine management fuse box under the hood

Oh, nevermind. I thought this was like the relay mod, so you can run your Fogs with your parking lights. Instead of only when the headlights are on.

Originally i installed the fog lights on my car that did not have them but it did have the wiring and everything there. i put the fog light mod in my relay box using good wire i don't exactly remember what gauge but it was pretty thick. All was good for a while (prolly a year) and then they started flickering and i looked at the fog light mod and it was melted on the ends. So i pulled that out and tried to figure out where to buy the relay to run my fogs. Now with the relay i can't have my fogs on independently or with the high beams but i don't have to worry about any wiring catching on fire

LOL heheh Flaming Focus now thats one hot ride... heheh just kidding
as for the light mod.. I've seen waaaaaaaaay to many foglight harness/headlight harness fry cuz someone modded them, tapped them or rigged them.. I could make the harness but theres no way I'm going to take any responsibility into them due to possible installation error or faults down the road so I don't bother with them depends on if they read them were going to have people object to what I just said.. yes there are some that have successfully done it but who knows if it didn't cause there alternator to spontaneously explode, fuses to pop randomly, wires to turn into goo or in the future something else.. after seeing this on my OWN Focus, I would NEVER in my LIFE depend on tapping a stock run.. who knows ?!?!?!?!? I've already had 1 major close call, 1 minor close call and one fat FIX-IT ticket 1 major - Wires shorted popped the hatch and we didn't hear it.. the door stayed closed enough that the dash warning stayed off.. we accelerated and one of the 4 rims I was transporting pushed hard enuf against the door it opened the hatch and fell out into the middle of the intersection 1 minor- third light failed and wiper started to intermittently run when it was not turned on 1 fat FIX-IT - it blew out the fuses that controlled my turn signals and brake lights resulting in a complete rear light blackout.. we drive who knows how far with no parking brake or signals, yet the fronts operated fine ![]()
