Thats my brother-in-law's, I put a cold air intake in, Race header, a new exhaust(unfortunately he removed his muffler so all he has now is a high flow cat and a resonator, and a 62 or 63 mm throtle body... thats it

he he he yeah my reaction time sucked ass. I had a hard time learning how to launch my wife's baby. I only get to run it when I'm good... then she takes it back when I start getting good.
Here's a link to some other time slips by Tiburon owners Clicky Here

The Tibs are very impressive with light mods. Don't take them lightly.

I think it would be a drivers race with how your both set up currently.

stock GT 6spd puts out 170, the 181 was a missprint. My stock dyno was 149whp..and I dont remember the TQ. Right now I'm sitting @ about 215whp and close to 200 ft lbs tq

Just goto the track and have at it.

I've not had any Focus' want to race so I couldnt tell you how it ended.

You might want to check your specs..............3 other sources including Hyundai rate the V6 at 181 hp.

OK....I stand corrected...I just found it on the official Hyundai site...they rate it at 172.
If it's OK I'll reduce my BS look to merely skepticism.

I'm a tech for Hyundai..and have been for 5 years. I try to keep my #'s straight. There was a major issue with Hyundai over rating the cars HP and the reimbursment to the owners that bought the car while it was still stickered with 181. Since then most of the ads and #'s have been corrected. My base dyno was 149..figure 15% Drive train loss..that would put me stock @ 171 at the crank.

Hey Guys, I also own a Tib and Fixer knows his stuff. I like the Focus, it's a great car. I'm disappointed Ford isn't making the SVT anymore. But I must say stock for stock, Im sure the Tib would win. Also, I have an automatic with a few bolt ons and I would definitely race a SVT no problem. Matt, thanks for posting.
