Maybe Ill just get a 45 series tire instead of 40... im running 50 series now but i want them to be a little thinner, just for looks.. and to get my car a little lower.

first of all, good luck man.

45 series ftw!

i just weighed my car at the dump a few days ago. it weighed 2980lbs with zero weight stripped, full tank of gas, 2 axes, 2 radios, sub, 2 weedeaters, 1 leaf blower, 70 ish lb floor jack, half a bag of sand blasting sand, and a partridge in a pear tree. i easily have 50lbs of just regular old trash in my car. oh yeah and that was with me in it.
EDIT: ah actually i lied. i do have some weight stripped. i forgot that i dont have a front bumper on the car right now

I wieghed my car at the track and it was bobbling between 2,200 and about 2,300 lbs. on there antique scale at sacraceway... dont know if its right, or if i trust it... but there is a digtal scale up the freeway a few miles from me that im going to take it to to get a acurate wieght...but 2,200 to 2,300 seems right to me. Im upset about the track last wednesday, i was unable to hit into the fourteens.!!! I know the car can cause it feels alot faster with the new, TB and livewires and screamin demon pack, i also re did my exaust so it can exit the side skirt and it DIFFINITLY has more torque!!! as my problem at the track was the excessive wheel spin in 2nd, and a few times in 3rd. I was only able to pull a 15.2 at 92 mph, and a few weeks before was pulling consistant 15.0's!!! without the throttle body and livewires! I also needed a little more practice behind the wheel re learning my launch rpm and the EXTRA touchy throttle respose from the BBK 65mm. Im planning to get some new drag tires and lighter wheels for next season, also LSD and new clutch and flywheel.... only thing is $$$$, haa ha.!!! its hard to support my car habit with two kids and little or no work. But, Im working at finding a new job and to come back next January faster than before!!!!! This focus WILL see 14's soon.

seems to me that the only thing you need now to hit the 14s is to get a better launch/better traction. the LSD alone on factory wheels and tires will probably do it. if you want to hit the 14s NOW then get yourself some DOT drag radials. after doing my share of shopping around, researching over the internet, and pestering people who have tried different tires it seems like the BFGoodrich G-force T/A drag radials are the way to go, bang for your buck wise on a anorexic FWD car with traction issues.

Those are the EXACT tires Im wanting to get! lol! they must be good I see them on dozens of cars at the track. And the look sweet to! I was thinking of getting some 15x7.5 Rota Slipstreams with some 215/50/15 BFG's, I thing the light wieght wheels and the bad ass tires i should be hooking up pretty well!

if you want to see weight reduction at its craziest, search "Anorexic STi"
that guy is absolutely nuts, and he is pro.

replace all your windows with plexiglass. go to the track with 1/4 tank.
take out your windshield washer bottle and motor and lines. take your Rear bumper reinforcement off. fender liners, damn i could go on forever,
if my car wasnt svt then this thing would weigh absolutely nothing.
