completly stock with just the rear seats and spare tire stuff should hit 17 to 18 second range... put a cone filter on stock intake tube and it will sound great and run a little faster.. Im not a 100 percent sure on this, my focus was stock for about a week then i changed alot and upgraded to short ram intake and 2 and a half inch pipe and new mufflers and a bunch of other stuff. I never ran it at the track stock but wish i did! Next time i hit the track i will be hitting the mid to high 14's!! I cant wait! good luck at the track.

There is always a chance. I have a duratec, and it's 100% stock.

Take a look. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=205157

17.4

your car has almost no power, with a slush box, sorry to say the focus isn't made for drag racing.

no matter what anyone tells you, without mods to the ATX it is a transmission that isn't very good for drag.

some mods and you can get probably high 16s or mid 16s depending on how crazy you go. but your car is more suited for autox and road racing.

Dont get discouraged my focus friend! just cause you have an automatic doesn't mean you cant drag race and have fun! my best friend has.. had a auto in his heavy 2002 focus wagon, his name is 1badwgn, look him up on here. We have gotten his car down to a 16.11 in the quarter mile!!!! and the only things taken off the car for the track was the rear seat and the passenger seat, thats only about a tenth or two max off the quarter mile time. We just completed a 5-speed tranny swap this weekend on it and are looking to get it into the mid 15's! Pm me if you want more help, dont let it stop you...you can get a reasonable time in a automatic, if we did it in a heavy ass wagon than you can in your zx3.

if its any encouragement im building a drag car shooting for the 500+whp range and its going to be automatic. even tho i keep putting the build on the back burner the monster will run! ill be using the exact same transmission that Tom used on his 700+whp dragster.

thats what Im saying! a auto can be a sure way to get consistant times in the 1/4 mile! you cant scratch or miss a gear in an auto! and with a turbo its not a bad combo at all! Tom is a Great example of that!
