i know what you are saying and tom had the super beast lentech tranny which was built to the gills i believe. but we arent really talking about the tranny breaking at this point, we are talking about the axles. there isnt really much you can do as far as axles go. ive seen a few 300mm billet axles or something like that which are very very expensive and ive seen or rather ive read about people breaking even those on launch with not but 400ish whp. but still, i see exactly what you are saying.

Jjust turn your engine north-south and make it rwd, then all you need it wheely bars.

that would be wonderful. it can be done, it has been done but if you are going to do it then it would be cheaper to stuff a big V8 in there than to turbo the zetec and THEN convert it to RWD. not to mention that a 500whp v8 is probably going to last a heck of alot longer than a 500whp zetec. not beating on the poor zetec but its true.

I didnt switch to the ATX till I was over 550HP almost 600 , If you make the axles stronger then the trans case brakes next and you have to go to a Quaife and there only about 15,000.00 , seems like to me common sence would be cheaper then going from a 2.1 60 to a 1.6 60

wait wait wait... didnt zx351 #1 run in the 9s on spray? i dont remember where i heard it from but i distinctly remember hearing that one of the v8 foci on bottle laid down 700ish whp and ran in 9 seconds spinning down the whole track.

No never heard of this
