SVT hickup around 5K

So i have my SVT at the dyno tuner. He has it running good, but around 4500 to 5000 RPM the timing gets messed up. We think it is because my J&S was not set up right. Is there any known problems with the timing tables on the SVT. He said it only has 2 where the regular zetec has 3. Any help would be great. Thanks

What is it doing??

Adding timing, pulling timing, how much, ect......

It is pulling timing, down to like 8degrees or so. It picks back up then but is adding more timing then he wants. Could it be the J&S adding time, its like 10 over what he wants. And it is only a few hundered RPM. other than that it pulling like crazy. he showed me the timing map and the timing, and the timing was stepping up like he wanted then, dropped out and was not a smooth line, then went back up to like 20 degrees. Could it be the VCT acting up? Thanks guys.

Tell your tuner to turn off the knock sensor in the tune, I'll bet thats alot of the problem.

Also are you using SCT or Diablo??

could also be something to do with the runner switch at that rpm.

^^^ But he also said its adding timing... which tells me knock sensor is still on.

but the fact is its doing something crazy around the rpm of the runner change.

He is using SCT. I dont thing that it is the runner change. To me that should not affect timing like that. I dont thing the knock sensor is turned off. So the know sensor is turned off but the J&S still reads off the wiring? I will be going up tomorrow afternoon when it goes back on the dyno. I will take my laptop and try to post a datalog of the timing problem. I dont have access to it today. I know that the J&S is the thing to have, yesterday i drove it with it plugged in and it really died at 4500-5000 rpm then picked back up. I alson drove it with the J&S unplugged and it was not nearly as bad. (only drove maybe 1/4 mile total, just enough the see that somethings not right). I think we dont have it set up right.

When you turn off the knock sensor in the tune all it does is tell teh ECU to ignore its input, thats how the J&S can still use it.

Also with the J&S are you set up to pull timing across all 4 cylinders at once or individual cylinder??

This a SC or turbo car?
