Scca

Is SCCA a good club to join these days? My dad was part of it in the 80s when he autoX raced and said it was good. Is this a good place to join or should I lean somewhere else?

Lots of good benefits, the biggest is saving some money on autox's. Every region is different in what they do locally, I'm close enough to two that I go to events for both.

So you get:
-Discount on autox
-Discount on PDX
-Free Magazine
-Meet people who are as obsessed with cars as you are :D

My opinion is to join whatever club is most active in your area be it SCCA, NASA, or whatever. A number of clubs for individual makes and models such as the PCA (Porsche) will often accept members with other kinds of cars if for no other reason than to distribute costs of events. Try to stick with nationally recognized clubs for more benefits and more events.
