yes i have and i think that they would be really good but i would just like the title of saying that my whole system is alpine, ya know. but i was definently looking at the infinity kappas. and there was also a pair of MB Quarts that were looking very promising

I'd say go for the R's. I am looking into making an all alpine system as well cause I love their head units and I just hate mixing components together. say go to the R's because they aren't as expensive but the still have the quality sound you can respect from Alpine. to be honest it all depends what your running HU+Amp-wise. How much power you pumping to the speakers? remember the Head Unit power's the speakers as well as the Amp so you have to add the power together. Don't want to be blowin speakers now!

well budgy, ive got the CDA-9886 alpine HU which i find to be unreal and then ive got a 4 channel alpine amp that is running 50W to each, so thats bout 100 whats rms to each speaker :) so according to the type R;s it can handle 110 rms each i believe so i should be fine, iam still havin trouble with the amp tho just because of the damn pin system in the doors. do you have that pin problem to?

for the difference you're gonna pay for the type x to the type R's and you are not gonna hear the dif from one to the other you are way better off getting the type r 6.5 and put them in the front doors you'll never have to change them ever again the vocal response and mid-bass tones are phenomenal
