I want peoples opinions...

Which is more customizable, the Zetecs or the SVT and which has more potential power? I know the Duratec has alot of potential but I personally want a SVT or the Zetecs.

If I can just get the SVT engine with the Getrag tranny I probably will just swap it into my sedan and make it a true sleeper. Which would be cheaper though?

Wow that's a pretty tough question in terms of costs. Obviously the SVT 2.0 is more developed than the regular 2.0 so in the end you're making more power. But cost wise sticking with your 2.0 is going to be much less expensive. Powerwise though, the regular 2.0 just isn't meant to handle power like the SVT or the Duratec.

They're the same engine... cept the svt already has Upgraded head, internals, intake mani etc... Id say its prob easier to boost an svt than build a zetec then boost it.

Regular Zetec or SVT variant of the Zetec can each be built to make plenty of power, it's a matter of how much you can or want to spend to make it happen. Out of the box with no mods, obviously the SVT engine is a better deal. At this point, with the Focus prices being as low as they are, you may as well just buy the whole car that comes wrapped around the SVT engine and just get the full package.

It costs less for me to insure my GTO than it does the SVT Focus. I have no idea why. I'm assuming because the average Focus driver is younger and more likely to be involved in an accident.

I'm with Erie Ins. and I pay $327 a year. But I'm 43 with a clean record and three other vehicles insured with them.
