More timing, to a point, should yield more power , But at what point , if timing is low already then yes more timing will net more HP/TQ , If the engine wuns at peak safe HP and you add another 2 deg , in most cases you will not make any more HP

No tuner can sit back and say , Yep that engine needs XX deg of timing to run its best , the engine will tell you what runs the safest and best , No 2 engines are the same even factory engines

The things you see on youtube about tuning most of what I have seen is worthless when it comes to the Focus , you dont know what engine , compression , internals there tuning so you never know if what there talking about will actually work on the Focus and because you dont know this what there talking about is worthless

More top "Mustang tuners" have blown up Boosted Foci then people with PRP that have never tuned a car before ,They try to tune them like a Mustang and you cant , they get to agressive with the timing and A/F

I cant add anymore timing it is at borderline knock right now. As I said I actually had to pull some to get .882 to work. The knock sensor is not "holding me back" my sensor is turned off right now. I need to get some bigger buckets in there so I have the correct cam timing and overlap, THAT is what is holding me back (mechanical issue, not tune issue!!). Right now the lash is about .005-.010 too much across the board.

my engine is telling me it likes .882 a lot better than .867 despite having to pull some timing so I am going to listen to its advice and run .882.

im running .55 gap on the Ford coppers with no issues, there is no evidence of ignition problems not in how it feels and not in how the logs look. Back when I had ignition issues you could see MAF counts get choppy and its just not doing that.

John I think you need to get out there and actually do some tuning, your opinions of these things will change as you start to understand whats going on.

^Tis true, but the funds don't agree, hence why I'm looking for the cheap alternatives, which are widely untested. All in due time though.
