OK. As a owner of a 88 LO3 Firebird ( also known as the 3rd Gen 305 TBI firebird ) I would like to say you beat a 4th gen 3.4 or 3.8 v6. The car you beat was a 93+ bird I know you wouldn't take a 93+ LT1 Bird or a LS1 Bird for that matter. I agree nice kill on the v6 bird though.

The black firebird in the video was a V8... the newer 4th gen is indeed a formula v8 Auto (Stock) as well... I'll try to get him to come out to the track but he just recently had a kid... I'll get him out there to the track at one of the next events and I'll record it for you.

As I said i my last post " good v6 kill " you said yourself you didn't see under the hood. The guy was leading you on over how he had a v8. Unless you have proof, than you beat a v6. With the SLOWEST V8 LT1 you are still pushing 275 HP / 325TQ. If it was a 1997+ LT1 the have 10 more HP / 10 TQ. All cars from 1993 -2002 are 4th gen cars. Third gen were 1982-1992. Believe me i know my cars. NO stock focus with SRI only will beat a 1993+ F-Body. ( unless it is only running on 6 cylinders )

for the record, I also owned a 92 rs, with a 305 it was slow, but it would smoke the hell outta one wheel. Man I was stupid, but I thought it was a great and it was PURPLE! Had a kid and sold it, and got the FOCUS..

Hey man... the 3rd gen 305 V8 Firebirds were like a 15 sec car... so while it's not exactly bragging material...They really were slow...And You don't have to look under the hood to know what a V8 sounds like coming out of an aftermarket exhaust... I've been around V8 and muscle cars all my life since I was in a stroller so I know EXACTLY what a v8 sounds like...

And no further proof is needed of me beating a 305 Firebird if you simply just watch the video... again beating it wasn't really much of any kind of bragging rights when you find out the actual performance those cars gave was dog shat anyways... It was just that much more entertaining making the kill due to the guy boasting and thinking his car was invincible in the company of good looking women! LOL!

As for the 4th gen firebird formula that my buddy owns that I have raced and won... It It's a LT1 w/auto and I will get him to come out to the track and I will record it and upload to youtube (just like the video in the original post) for all to see!



I know it might be hard to imagine a Focus with only an intake winning... But I'm driving a torquey 2.3L ST which with a 3:82 final drive ratio pulls pretty hard through the first few gears...

Are you talking about the video? It is clearly a thirdgen.

AS for the 305... They quit using the 305 as the stock v8 engine in the 1992 cars. ALL 1993+ cars W/ v8 are LT1 engines. You can fool some people here on the boards , but not me. The car in the vid is a 1993+ There is no way you will beat out a LT1 Bird without having a posi diff, boosted, and N20 Focus w/ Drag radials.

Dude the 305 equipped car was the black firebird I beat in the video... I know the 93+ firebirds had the LT1's... That's the car my buddy owns that works with me at his job... and I won't go back and forth about it... because even THOSE cars were mid to high 14 sec cars so with 100k miles or so and an auto transmission after a few years it's going to get slower putting it probably in the low to mid 15's... Hey man! He didn't believe it himself when I beat him the first few times and kept wanting to go again... His car is 100% stock and ZERO mods... and he isn't the type to beat on his cars either because he's one of those brothers that is more into cruising than racing... He just wanted to race me initially because he originally thought that me modding a focus was "ricer like"... and when he first offered to race me joking around I seriously responded "ok lets go afterwork" and put him on the spot in front of a few people and peer pressure made him not want to turn down what seemed for an easy kill for him and oppurtunity to smash on what he thought was BS rice...

Either way ... I will run with him again but next time at the track... same one the video you saw was filmed a few blocks from our job... I just gotta pull him away from his wife and newborn child to go racing for a night!


And to everyone else... For the record I know my car isn't EXTREMELY fast or anything... I know I have alot of work to do!!! but I'm proud of the kills I've made considering what little has been done... since only having an SRI isn't really considered anything! LOL
