Man... There may be a lot of places where someone can credibly rip at the LT1 platform... but the "Focus" forum isn't one of 'em...

I own a basically stock 96 Z; which is rigged with the stock long block; refreshed stock heads, the obligatory bolt ons; 1.6rrs, CAI, Headers, Mail Order Tune; Mild (218/224 565-570) cam... and runnin '4.10s behind the Yank stall, out back in the the old 10 bolt...

Now we recently ran that car to a 7.29; 1.68 60 @ 96 mph in the 1/8th; down in SW Florida, in Early September; 95 degrees; nasty humidity... on a Nano 50 shot. N/A she runs steady 7.5xs...

Which equates out to a low 12, high 11 second car. And there just aren't many 11-12 second 'dogs' running around out there.

What's more is that the above 60' is a full .1 off our best 1.58 due to rear end problems... and without being too terribly optimistic; that is solid 11 second; possible high tens.

Now that car's 13 years old with 160+ miles...

So please ladies... a little respect for the big dog; Oh and I know it's the web and all; but sooner or later ya have to stage up; and it's better to have tipped the hat than flipped the finger when that great day of reckoning finally comes...

Speaking of which... I usually run over at Immokalee... at the moment we're down due to the above noted rear end thang... plus, the track operator putting his foot down on the ET/safety gear requirements; but we should be back out there after Christmas... first of the year. Runnign heavy as hell with the new cage, strange S60 and all the other crap.

So it'll be a good chance to get some for anyone want's some... So ya'll come on down; ya hear?

come around on a sunday night there are plenty of us here that will run on the streets including me. we can do digs or rolls. i just dont want to hear any complaining the asphalts not hookings lol cause there are plenty of lt1s and ls1 thats ive run with better bolt on and a bigger shot

Now that's incontrovertible data girls... the 7.5X 1/8th is mid-midhigh 11s..

FTR; 10's roll in at roughly 7.0Xs...

So while it's understandable how those who avoid the lanes need to protect those fragile egos... the clock don't lie.

Immokalee Regional Raceway... Any Friday Night. There's usualy tons of cars running 14's for you kids to run against... and if ya scare up a Focus that's runnin 11s... I'll happily roll out to help ya to a good time.

Well maybe... But I've easily made a thousand passes in that car (from stock to current config) and typically, the LS platformed F-bodies with the obligatory mods are runnin' mid to low 8s... a very few high 7s... fewer still running with me and RARELY; one'll come along to put us away.

But hey... it's only the local track; so there's no reason to believe that the guys and gals who want to run what they believe are fairly fast cars; around SW Florida; will eventually show up to do so.

In my experience, the kids that opt NOT to stage up, are the one's who just don't want to know...

I have not made 1000s but i have hundreds and have been to the track plenty of time whether im drivin my car or my buddies 78 camaro which did a 5.51 lol

And for the record ive been running low 8s since i had 250whp. havent been back since the new turbo and the slicks
