New ram air design i'm running
So I took an old headlight from a focus and used a dremmel to cut the outer lens off of it. Then removed the light bulb and reflector. I used a 3 inch drill bit and drilled a hole straight through it.! Now i have connected a 3 inch tube coming off of where the rubber round cover used to be on the back of the headlight. I custom cut a cold air intake up and made it run from the throttle body to the 3 inch tube coming off back of headlight and Walla, i have a custom ram air intake for drag racing that eliminates the hot air of the engine when i had a shorty intake and the hot asphalt heat with my cold air intake... This should shave a little bit of time off my next drag times!!

this has been done quite a few times and is the favorite of alot of JDMers out there. i wouldnt mind doing this mod myself in the future. remember that if you decide to run this setup on the street at night you need modify the fog lights for a high enough output to be considered running lights so you dont get into trouble with the law.

Should work very well for you. Its been around since... forever? I have old (from the 60s) pictures around somewhere showing a lot of cars removing a high beam and using the opening to run ducting to the snorkel on the air cleaner.

ya the first time i put it all together and on the car, i went for a test drive down the street and got pulled literally about 100 yards from my house! I just bring my real headlight with me and switch them at the track. funny thing was the cop just stood by my drivers door and said " you know your headlight is out right?" i said i'd fix it and he let me go, good thing cause he would have screwed me for my headers, intake, muffler, and I'm sure he could have found more ticket me for!!

huh? how you figure? where do you live? as long as the car will still pass general inspection and will pass emissions they cant do jack about you having mods done. unless you're in cali lol

Yep you got it CALI...my headers are illegal cause i dont have cat, my intake i made myself so that probably illegal cause its not factory and my exaust is to loud cause of 2 1/2 inch piping, no cat, no resonator and a straight flow N1 muffler.. The cops dont like me around here, ha ha . i get pulled over quite often.

i have a stac of like 40 of em from all the drags ive done this summer but i dont know witch ones now are before and after to prove it but I was running 15.5 with my normal cold air intake with filter under front bumper And with the headlight setup i started seeing 15.2's , 15.3's and 15.4's no BS.
