Installing aftermarket seats....PITA??
How difficult is installing aftermarket seats? I see sparco makes seat brackets, but thats the only ones I see. I was looking at BRIDE seats, but wanna make sure I can even fit them in my car first. So anyone that has taken on this project please put in some info please.. thanks..

I picked up some "Mugen" seats, at least that's what the Craigslist seller said they were, and from my research I agree.
However, I didn't want to drop 200 on Sparco seat rails. I found some Weapon R seat rails but the braces didn't line up to the bolts holes on the seats. So I had to buy some sturdy steel and have my friend weld them onto the seat rails, making sure he did a good job welding them in. After painting them black you couldn't even tell there were any mods made to it. In fact the added metal reinforced the rail frames. They're rock solid now and I used Grade 8 bolts on all the hardware (with the exception of the factory bolts to the floor pan). So basically, uninstalling seats and installing is a piece of cake. It's making sure the seats and rails will work together and line up properly.

the job itself isnt hard at all. just 4 torx bolts and the seats come out. if u dont reuse ur stock seatbelts, u will have the airbag light blinking in ur face, and u will have the seatbelt minder going off on u. but their is a how to to turn the minder completly off. and u can cover up the airbag light if u want. ive got some corbeau TRS seats in mine but im using the stock seatbelt buckles.

i have carbeau seats in my SVT.. got the brackets from carbeau.. they are like 100 for the set.. i think Weapon R also make a set for 50.. the seat will bolt right up after that no problem... T50 to remove the seat bolts and your seat belt stuff... your air bag light will go on but you can get a relay to tun them off or take your old seats apart and take the air bag out. that's what i did...

i have the leather ones. the fit is good. they sit a lot lower than the stock ones so if ur tall, it works out. takes a lil bit of gettin used to, but once u r, they r very nice seats. as for long drives, they arent that comfy. sat in em for about 2 hours and my booty was goin to sleep. lol. but for spirited driving and just driving around they r great.
