Stupid is as stupid does!!!

1st stupid thing was putting on that cf dash kit...
2nd stupid thing was leaving it on soooo long....
3rd stupid thing was trying to take it off.....

HELP.....any suggestions on an adhesive remover...shop that put the kit on suggested bug and tar remover..didn't work.
tried greased lightning, nail polish remover (not recommended on plastic), windex (hey, I watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding one too many times), armorall (figured it was greasy enough), and last but not least good ol' soap and water (cleans the bod but not the sticky)

Anywhoooo, the tips of my fingers hurt sooo bad from rubbing the tape it's hard to even type..
Please someone help..I've convinced the hubby it will come off "without a problem".
I don't want to have to suck up to him...

Oh maybe 2 scrub use a brillo pad and soap and water, also helps take off stubborn sticky tape, but it will leave it scratched up, so maybe if u don't want that, then don't that. Mmmmmmmmmm.....trying 2 think of more suggestions.

ok...thanks for all the suggestions....went back to the bug and tar and with LOTS of elbow ummm finger grease it came off....however, the change thingy is lookin' mighty dull after I tried the nail polish remover on it....anyone have one they want to sell cheap?

Russel--I didn't like all the pieces...I left the center around the radio and where the shifter is to see if I like just a little on there (and partly because I'm scared to take it off right now)...I'll post pics when I can
