Power door locks not working.
Topic is on a 2000 Focus SE 4 Door Sedan, 240000kms.
Both FOB's not operating, but neither are the door locks themselves. If you normally hit the drivers side to lock it locks all of them, nothing. Did a quick visual of the fuses, and did not see anything jump out of me, short of pulling every one. Checked the conectors that I could get to from the door to the body and they all look secure. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what is the fix? Tanx. |

No, primary fuse box is on the drivers side, only thing behind the glovebox is my heater fan.
I did do a quick check of the fuses, but I will try to do a more complete check soon. |

Solved it.
To any and all that have this issue in the future. Stop. Take a deep breath, and listen to this stupidity. The burnt out fuse that you are looking for is behind your primary fuse box. You need to take off the lower cover under the steering colum. Then take out the two screws holding the fuse box on. Gently turn it over and you will see wires, lots of wires. Take a pair of side cutters and cut the zip tie at the top of the fuse box holding the majority of wires. With a little finesse, move it to the side and you will see a fuse underneath. There lies the culprit. Before you replace it though, take a second to think why it blew? I did. And I traced it back to my trunk lid, or rather the wiring harness that runs up the right side. Three broken wires and two that were nearly stripped. Just a little short. Have a better day. |

Focus Door lock Fuse
Thanks for the post. That has got to be the dumbest place to put a fuse ever. I would never have found it. Got to love engineers. Wish they had to work on them once in a while.
