Ford Focus fender

Hey guys,

I am new to this forum so bear with me if I post this in the wrong forum.

Okay, I accidentally bumped my car while driving and my car has 2 dents on the front left hand side fender. I was thinking of buying a new fender or a used fender to replace the whole thing instead of bring it to an auto body shop to get them bumped it out.

But here is the problem, I have been searching high and low for a used metallic red ford focus fender but I can't seem to find any. The other option is to buy a new primed ford focus fender and paint it. But if I do get somebody to paint it, will it look different from my car?

I am driving a 2005 Ford Focus SE ZX4, I am currently studying in college and finding the cheapest way to fix this problem.

Thank you in advance.

Knowing the exact name of your paint color and/or the paint code will help a lot more. My guess is it's Sangria Red or something similar, but you should post up what it is.

Then you can go here and search your local scrap yards: http://www.car-part.com/

Any decent body shop should be able to match your paint, as long as it's in good condition.

(good condition as in not abused with chemicals, and not faded too much from the sun)
Oh yeah...you're in Auburn, WA...never mind about the sun. LOL!

The paint code can be found on your door VIN sticker.
Look for "EXT PNT" on the bottom left of the sticker.

the body shop you take it to will paint your whole side of the car to blend the colour they usually wont just paint the fender just for that reason of being a different shade

Yeah I suppose they might do that and it is going to cost me a bomb. I can't afford to repaint the whole side of my car.

I hit a deer last year and replaced my left fender. I bought the fender (new)from a local ford dealer for $150 and then took it to a local body shop. He painted it for $125. I installed it myself. I've pointed it out to lots of people and they all said if I hadn't pointed it out they would never have known it was a different fender. But my car doesn't have metallic paint, that's a lot harder to match.

Thanks for the replies guys.

So it is safe to ask a shop to paint it for me? I do not want my car to look completely different with a new fender.

I wish to get a body shop to paint it for me and I paint it myself. But I am just worried that it will look different and my money will be wasted.
