no one likes rice... it sucks... but the civic like any other car can be modded right, down to some great numbers... remember that street racing started with cars like the Honda SHivic so the next time you're diggin on fast and the furious remember that the story the inspired it was about a new yorker who modded the hell out of his Honda Civic and raced late nights to fund it. Don't hate the car... hate the rice

funny side story... my focus was in the shop couple of weeks back and I get a loaner sable wagon...2002, 24 valve DOHC. Anyways I pull up to a light and theres this riced out civic...like a '90 civic. I look over and laugh as per usual, till the light turns green and I mash the gas thrusting the shaggin wagon way out in front... but lay off it cuz there's another light. He revs this time and wants to play, so I laugh again, and mash it again leaving him about four car lengths behind at 70... there's just no substitute for displacement. He stopped tryin after that.

I would hardly call a Civic SI a POS car. If someone was going to give me one I'd take it in a heartbeat, but at the same time I'd never buy one. While they might not be the best thing on the road, they are cheap to buy and modify. Honda pretty much wrote the book on bolt ons, and as a result a lot of aftermarket parts are far cheaper. And don't bash them blindly; if it wasn't for Honda, we probably wouldn't have sport compacts in the numbers or quality that we do today.

Its just another clear-cut case of the driver makes the car. The guy obviously doesn't have his shift points memorized yet, or worse, just started driving manual.
