Custom splash shield

A friend and Myself built a custom splash shield and panel for the front of my sedan. I have a cold air kit and wanted to protect it from the splash edge from the tire. So the other nite we spent a couple of hours working with some scrap metal to create a panel to replace the missing plastic "skid shield" that would normally direct air to the heat exchangers and support the lower part of the bumper. I also spent hours trying to (for the first time) work with some body hammers to stretch and shrink metal to create a panel (that can be removed for access) to protect the air filter from direct splashes. I will try to post pics once the gallery clears them, until then check the gallery for the images to clear (under same handle).
I still need to secure the front bumper to the panel, but I did 70 for two hours last night and it did not pop free...

As requested and promised, I have updated the post with the pictures I said were clearing the gallery...

Still haven't secured the front but will do something.

Yes there are beads rolled in the pictures, my friend has a bead roller.

should still be getting air through the front lower grill not sure how much. thats a cool way of going around the water problem on the CAI. are you still getting water from where the head lights meet the top part of the bumper?

Interesting mod, my plastic skid plate flew off quite some time ago, just secured bumper with some metal wiring to existing skid panel holes, might do something similar though.
Good idea.
