I loooooove those seats. First are these the CSVT seats ?? If yes look on the console if you see any switches for the seat heating an see if you can recover them (they will be usefull). If you want to dye these seats you have to inquire with a specialist, don't just buy anything from a website to do this yourself, it will work BUT it will eventually smear and ruine the clothes you wear. It is very difficult to get a nice and even color on them if you do this, ask around at any leather store, shoe store or any company that could do this or is involved with leather.

well crap this sucks... I'm gonna have some trouble here :P

Quote:
I recently put SVT seats in the front of my Mystique. There are 6 bolts as stated, they are 10mm. Leave the two connectors hooked up as you will need to move the drivers seat from front to back gain access to the bolts. Use a T50 torks (SP?) to remove the seat belt from the seat. The seat should be all the way raised in the back to allow you tool access. Delounge the seatback to the upright position and it will come out easily. Don't forget to disconnect the wires.

Take it easy buddy, I admit that removing the front seats from a Focus takes a little work but nothing to worry about. Next, that guy put SVT seats in his Mystique (which is a Mustang) and therefore not entirely compatible. It seems that he had issues removing his Mystique seats instead of the CSVT seats.
His message doesn't seem all that clear.

mystique/mondeo are the mercury counterparts of the contour though...... and I saw a picture though, it's like three bolts even spaced on either rail. AND I need some form of 12v power just to gain access to some bolts cause I need to move the seat and the only way is with the damn buttons. Hell I may even take the battery out of my car for a bit just to move the damn thing lol. hope it still has all the connections. LOOKED like it did:

Sorry didn't think that Contour had Mystique too. For the juice that might be a possibility but if you have like a portable battery charger for a car then that might just work too (no need to disconnect battery). Just peep under the seats to see if all is connected. Also have you looked at the folding mirrors ??? Nice mod to put on a Focus ...... Hence an engine swap would be nice too

Yeah I'm trying to think what I have... Well theres a plug in charger. That's no good. I may just have to pull the battery. And I dunno if the mirrors would for though I didn't look.

And yeah trust me I've got the engine swap lined up LOL. Gonna figure out how to remove the intake manifold as well as the engine wiring harness and ecu. With luck I can pull an engine another Wednesday and get it for maybe $75. 3.0 v6 FTW haha

Plug in charger is indeed no good, see if you can find or borrow a portable battery charger ( the one with the pos and neg)
Mirrors is a question of adapting plate fixed on there with a few screws, I would take them and fab them on the Fofo adapter for the mirror. Would look cool IMO.
It's not an easy fix to swap the engine ( lot of pain, sweat and tears LOL), there must be a How to or a thread on here somewhere. And I dunno about transmission though, that's something else too.

Eh LOL I'm good on it for the most part, those 6-7 months of research weren't for nothing I wish however that the svt was a 3L but it's not so I'm gonna pull one from a Taurus. For your entertainment though, the trans is from a jag x type, and will later allow me to utilize all wheel drive.
Just watch for my final real thread on the swap (I've made a couple, but this next one will be following the purchase of parts all the way through to hopefully awd and such in the end) we can converse about it in that one. Hehe..

Cool, I'm more and more interested to see how it will all come together. Do you realise that if all this works, you will indeed be the first one actually driving a possible all wheel drive ??
Keep me updated about ALL the improvements, this is a thread I will be following closely.
