How much paint do I need for a bumper and side skirts?
Title is pretty self-explanatory. Going to be repainting my F2 bumper, as well as getting some WW side skirts. I'm gonna use an orbital sander and take everything down to bare plastic. I was getting a quart each of urethane primer and clear coat (any reason I would need more?), and I was wondering if a pint of color would be enough, or do I need to get a quart? I've looked through all the threads and haven't seen this question, but if it exists, sorry.
Thanks in advance everyone.

First, why are you taking it down to plastic? Thats alot of extra work you don't need to do.
Second, what primer are you using? Third, are you using a base coat clear coat system? |

Norcal, I knew I could count on you to answer this lol.
To answer your first question: I already started the sanding process by driving out of a steep driveway and getting down to urethane in a big spot on my bumper. Rather than try to fill and sand, I'd rather just go down to urethane on the whole thing. Plus, I painted it the first time by just scuffing the clear from the paint job before me. To answer your second and third questions: http://www.automotivetouchup.com/auto_paint.asp The urethane base coat, clear, and primer on that page.

Well your not going to hurt it by sanding it that far, I just dont see why you want to do the extra work.
On the base you can probaly get away with a pint, but get a quart of the clear. Also are those paints legal in Cali? |

Yes, paints that are legal in CA are kinda watered down compared to others.
I'm not sure if they are. Half the stuff we wash our cars with isn't technically legal if you let it go into the gutter. I was just worried about the base color being enough for a bumper and two side skirts. The primer and clear both come in a quart anyway.

if your taking it down to plastic i would put adhesion promoter before spraying down primer and get some flex additive so paint doesn't crack.

I have some adhesion promoter from the previous paint job. I'll look into flex additive too.
