HOW TO ADD FOG Accent Lights

well, to begin.. ive only been on this site for a couple a months, and thats how long ive had my car and i must say i loveeee this site


ive gone through so many threads looking at ideas and came up with one.. im not sure how original it may be, but i was in the process so i took some pictures

ever see the cars goin down the road with some bright colored light?.. ive seen quite a few, and got jelous.. so this is what i did about it..


youll need..

a bunch of wire
2-4 LEDs, depending on the look you want
resisters for the LEDs (google resister calculator and follow the instructions to find the right ones)
a switch
soldier iron
hot glue gun
heat shrink or electrical tape
wire strippers
and your focus

to begin, my car is stock everything, i put my accent lights in the focus fog lights, because of ease. if you dont have fog lights then youll need a drill too.. and most of this tut wont apply for you..

you will have to start off by taking off the fog lights.. twist the bulb and pull it out..
undo the wire clip.. and wiggle it out.. the side towards the center of the car comes out first




then look for a little blue sticker(thats what color it was on mine, im not sure if all are like that), and remove it from the lense



then take your LEDs

theres two legs to them,, a long and short.. the long is your positive and short is your negative.
cut the short side shorter and trim part of the resistor leg and attach it to the negative side of the led, repeat for all of the leds



you want to put about 3 feet 8 in of wire on your passenger side led(distance from one fog light to the other
heres where your opinion comes in.. if you want it to just be a little dot of color, you want to put the led in facing out towards the clear part,, if you want it to all light up you want to face it towards the reflective part

simply hold it in place and hot glue it in


i installed little connectors in between the leds and the wire to make it easy to take the fog lights off again should i ever need to

then just throw the lights in, connect the wires to them, and flip your switch

also, you can leave your leds on because of how little power they use up

lol most people just buy pre-resisted LEDs. glad to see you did it on your own.

Why not make a second hole in the casing to retain the original lights?

Just be careful....blue lights will get you pulled over again and again and again. And you don't want a "Inpersonating a police office" ticket.
