SVT with full bolt ons...

Does anyone have an SVT with all bolt ons? I am wondering how you like it.

Looking at...
K&N Drop in
HFC or stock cat- Heat Wrapped
SVT stock header - Heat Wrapped (done)
Borla cat back (have it installed)
Tom's Tune on the XCAL 3

I am not going with any UDPs or cams.


I can't afford my Procharger w/FMIC set up (which is for sale btw). I want to put on a little power with bolt ons and call it a day.

I will auto x once in while but that is it. I have a dynamics suspension set up that I love...

You need to add the Motor Mounts, Short Throw Shifter, Coils, UDP, TB and Good Shocks/Springs.

I have everything but the Upper Mounts and Borla Exhaust.

For AutoX, You really just need some good Tires and the Shocks and Springs to get you up there in the SVT. Hell ... good tires Alone pretty much would make you real competitive.

The Short Throw, Lower Motor Mount, Tune and HFC/ORP are the next best things to go for. Everything else is pretty much just better driving feel.

Got the steeda STS and counterweight removal, waiting on lower mount bushings to come in, and I have the Dynamics Kit from hilbish, which is awesome.

I need to order a 24mm rear sway.

I was wondering if there is a decent power or feel gain with the mods I listed. I know I won't be fast without a turbo or my PC that I am selling, but I need a little more than the stock.

I am sure the tune will pep it up a little bit.

the Tune and either a HFC or ORP will give you some good feeling of more power. So will a Larger Throttle Body for better Throttle Response.

I have a mods list pretty close to that besides tune...really see no point in one seein as I get 30mpg and my SVT has 130k on it....only thing I noticed is a good intake and exhaust including HFC really help smooth out the powerband...feel like my car breaths better LOL

dont really notice any real aggressive power gains but driveability means alot

To put all that massive horsepower down to the pavement with all those mods...

Id suggest an LSD more than anything else on that list.

First off if you plan on autocrossing it I would NOT do an UDP.... your going to be beating on the car (createing excess heat) with the water pump turning slower for what 1/2 of a horsepower if that???

And second you're no wheres close to needing an LSD at the whopping 150-160whp mark.

Aftermarket coil = waste of time and money... you get the same performance out of the stock coil... its the wires that need upgrading.

i definitely agree with the short throw, motor mount, and bigger throttle body...i noticed that those mods really improved the driving feeling of the car overall. i also put on a front stress bar that really helped a ton with handling

That's about as useless as a spoiler on a honda!
