I would love to have a new Focus! Any suggestions on where to buy one in Texas?

I have an old Nissan Maxima. Its a 1988 technically since the manufactured date sticker says 11/88. I Thought it was a 1989. Who knows? It qualifies for the $4500 cash for clunkers rebate. Anyways, my wife wrecked my old Focus in 2005. I had it 3 months. Ever since I traded up to a Ford Fivehundred I have always wanted my Focus back. Where can I get a bare bones base model Focus for a resonable price in Texas and try to use this stimulus money? I had a such a bad buying experience with my last Focus I don't want to go there again.

Well ... it also depends on what city you want to buy from.

In Dallas I would recommend Doug Stanley Ford or Don Davis Ford.
In Houston I would recommend Champion Ford or Russel & Smith Ford.

Good luck finding a Ford Division to work with.

I bought it from a dealer in San Antonio which is now know as Red Mccombs. Bought a Ford Fivehundred from them. They played a few games to jack the price up too, but not nearly as bad as the first one.

I currently live in Dallas and I would really like this deal they have at villa ford in California. They have a 2009 Ford Focus SE coupe with a stick for $10988. I'm guessing that doesn't include a few things, but I would like that deal here in Texas. I may just drive to California and drive it back.

Another quick question: Can you use the TCEQ air check rebate for $3500 and the Federal $4500 cash for clunkers rebate at the same time? That deal would be spectacular! $8000 off. I qualify for both.

No idea on the TCEQ question, but its worth looking into. As far as buying in CA, it may actually be cheaper to ship it back Here. I was looking at a car in L.A., and in CA, if You buy a car and drive it off the lot, You have to pay CA sales tax, which is about 0.5% higher that TX sales tax, IIRC.

I was told that as long as you have it towed off the lot there is no tax. Then it is just a matter of getting a temp to move it. The only trouble is I believe I would have to drive my maxima to California in order to turn it in for the Cash for Clunkers rebate. My parents live out there so I could make it a visit too.

dont think the texas version of the clunker thing has any money left for the year...the federal one does though.
