So ... any ideas?

I guess BlueFront idea is the best ... go back to OEM.

I thought part# K060837 was for the regular SVT w/AC?

I really, truly did not want to bump a 3+ year old thread but since its one of the top results on google relating to the focus svt serpentine belt I'm going to go ahead and ask; What belt did you end up putting on your SVT tukani?

I ordered a Gates K060837 and haven't installed it yet, I'm really hoping its the right one.

Since I have the Lightweight UDP, I had to go with that as well.

I did learn that day though, that the belts are just numbered in order of size. The AutoZone by my home that I went to, brought out their belts to help me and one fitted. If I remember that was the one.

So, really, if you find your belt is short, just ask for the lowered numbered one. Genius by Gates.

So you're using the K060837 belt with a UDP? That makes me nervous about my order since I'm using the OEM crank pulley.

Hey Ray I had the same problem as you around August of last year. I ended up installing the K06837 but it still seemed loose. The car hasn't been on the road since September. Last week when I recharged the battery and got it to run the serpentine belt was whinning.

This isn't too big of a deal since I have purchased the CFM 2pc Aluminum Underdrive Pulley Kit, and they recommend that you use a new belt. But I really want to get the correct belt this time, and I do want the gates serpentine belt so if you could give me some guidance on where to get the correct belt I would be really greatful.

I have a Unorthodox racing UDP...Last gates belt I had squealed when it got cold. So I went to using Dayco from Autozone #5060820 it fit just like stock nice and tight.

I by my belts from O'Reilly, because they carry the Gates belts. If your serpentine is loose, you will want to go to the next number down. It's not going to say it's for your car at all in their system, but they aren't taking into consideration the pulley diameter size change.

Just for the sake of documentation, I installed the Gates K060837 yesterday on my 2003 SVTf and it fit exactly like the OEM Ford belt.

I just replaced my serpentine belt as part of a timing belt change, and I learned while I was in there that I have crank and water pump pulleys from Focus Central (red pulleys, guessing an UDP kit that I inherited with the car). I'd already ordered a Gates K060827 online, and it was too short. I ended up with a K060832 from O'Reilly, and it fit exactly the way the previous belt had (a Ford belt, 98BB-6C-301CA IIRC).
