Yeah I have heard some good word on the Gates ... so I think I will stick with them for this round. I bought the OEM one last time ... yeah it didn't last as long as my original Belt ... interesting.

Gates make a very dependable belt. I believe what the previous post was referring to was that whenever you go to anyplace other than a Ford dealer for a belt, your taking your chances in whether or not you are given the correct belt. As seen in the chart, there are several to choose from, but only one will work for your specific application.

OKAY ... I put the K060827 on ... and it is still super LOOSE ...

hmmm .... I don't think any of these Gates numbers fit the car at all ... I have tried all of them ... and not of my own fault it is what the guys gave me.

So ... any ideas?

I guess BlueFront idea is the best ... go back to OEM.

Well then yeah, it makes sense that you need a smaller belt then.

gates blue belts are exceptionally good. i plan on driving my gates blue timing belt until it breaks as an experiment. i put it on at 93,000 so i'll be glad to still own and drive my focus past 193,000, anyway. if and when it breaks after 200k, the engine will probably need some overhaul anyway.

ANYWAY. easiest way to match up your belt is to bring your broken one in and measure its length. i think the SVT belt is 87" long, but dont take my word for it i was just trying to figure out its length from the model numbers

I Would have done that ... but the belt split in 2 on the highway and tore up when I was pulling over ... bits every where ... looked like a dog ate at it.

Well ... I ordered my Gates Belt from CFM ... because AutoZone and OReilly just didn't cut it.
