Fixing Rust on Rocker Panels/Front Fenders

So, I had some rust problems on the rockerpanels and the front fenders on my Focus SE. I went to sand down the rust/paint to repaint it and prevent any rusting through, but as it turned out, the rockerpanels have been rusting from the inside out anyway and the drivers side one had a decent sized hole in it. So, what I thought would be a week job at the most turned into a two week project. The first pictures detail the stripping of the rust/paint in preparation for new primer/paint. There were no photos taken during the painting process due to intense anger over screwing up at the end and having to start all over. But the last pictures show what the finally finished car looks like (kinda ghetto, but its better than rusting through). The final layer of paint is truck bedliner, BTW.

Well guys, I have an update. My fix has failed...the riveted piece of sheetmetal that I used to cover one of the sections I had to cut metal out of is somewhere along the side of US-23, and apparently I didn't prep the rest of the surface well enough because the rust is bubbling the paint out. I wish I would have just left it, my Dad told me to leave it but you know how that goes lol. I will try to post some pics up here with the current rust situation when I get the time. I don't believe I have any pics of the car before this work was done, however it didn't look as bad as it does now, lets just put it that way. The sheet metal on these 00-04 models is just so thin, a new rockerpanel needs to be welded in to really solve this problem. Not quite sure I want to spend that much on a purely cosmetic issue on a 10 year old car with 158k that gets driven in Michigan winters lol...
