Just another video that makes me sad we'll never have that beautiful work of art.

I would rather have the Megane R32R. Faster around the corners, quicker in a straight line, better MPG, and even less expensive.

Sorry man, but that thing looked like a piece of shit. I'd rather get my monies worth with the Ford.

ya that thing is in mo way a street car. The Focus RS is nearly as good preforming but it's still a good street car

Also Jeremy brought up a good point at the end. That Renault is sitting on high performance summer tires. I'm willing to bet the RS is on some sort of all-season or a more weather friendly tire. A set of good (comparable) tires like Azenis or Star Specs would likely be worth a couple seconds on that track. Now you're faster AND have a radio.

ford isnt exactly marketing this car a family hatch. a little digging around on the interwebz has revealed that the RS comes with continental contisportcontact 3, which is a high performance summer tire used on several high end european performance cars.

i would also prefer the renault to the focus. i enjoy lighter cars, as they tend to give much better feedback and are generally more fun to drive.

The Renault is on Toyo R888 DOT competiton tires. That's hardly comparable to the Contis which are probably a little friendlier in rain and should last more than 5,000 mi on the street. I bet the Focus could catch it on a high performance street/auto-x tire.

Looks like Ford thought so, too. It would be great to watch.

Old article, I wonder if they tried already.

good luck finding one, been to every dealership around and not a single one, in italy, also to several in germany....nothing, they are more prominante in the uk than in europe, the 08 st on the other hand is easier to find

And the ST is a killer ride too.

The RS is nice and the TopGear review is pretty cool ... I am actually a bit dissapointed with this episode. I was looking forward to more entertainment like on the Fiesta Review the did.

Oh well ... Top Gear rules and the RS is awesome. .... But on this car ... the Fifth Gear Team did a better episode on it.
