Blowing # 9 ignition fuse

i just replaced the alternator, doing the install per the book, and now my car is blowing the ignition fuse everytime i turn the key. any ideas?

Check the solenoid on the starter to see if it's grounded accidentally. Other than that you'll want to trace down the little wires that go from the starter to the starter relay to be sure that one of those is not grounded or melted to another wire somewhere.

Beyond that, there's the relay, and ignition switch.

nov- yeah its the right ampage the origional blew last night and i replaced it this morning to be blown

whynot-ill check but would the short to ground be after the fuse or before?

Oh and by the way its 8 not 9

ok where is the starter relay? is it in the fuse box or am i looking for something else?

back after taking a day off to rest my knee, but i cant see any fried or open wires my battery is dead now though. so i have no car for the weekend my axiom's tranny just failed i gotta get this fixed before my parents kick my rear for having two cars broken down at their house.

If after replacing the alternator, you now have a different issue, you need to recheck the alternator install.
