Make them yourself, get some ideas from ATV skidplates, mimic them for a car, make them strong and light as possible, then manufacture a dozen sets and sell them and make some loot!

ok, so i've come to the conclusion that Yes, i have to make them, however, Rally America doesn't stipulate how thick tey have to be, so i was wondering, what thickness have yall made them?? or if you didn't make them, can you measure???

First there's no requirement that you must have them up front, but its common sense to do so. Therefore, you can make them out of whatever you want. When rules allow a stock fuel tank to be used it must, however, be protected. In this case most people wrap the exposed portion of the tank in a sheet of high or low density polyethylene. For the front plate some use 1/8 to 3/16 inch steel plate (heavy but cheap). Many use 3/16" to1/4" 6061 aluminum plate (heavy but not as heavy as steel but more expensive). Another option is HDPE polyethylene. You can use a single layer thicker sheet 5/16 to 1/2inch or layer a couple of thinner sheets. This is cheaper and the poly is easy to cut and can be formed with a heat gun. If you have an unlimited budget there's always carbon fiber. They're almost to pretty to be bouncing off or rocks.

ya, thats for sure, i don't want CF, I was looking at the 3/16's inch diamond plate and just go from there, but not sure yet. I think it will take the abuse, plus, i am going to need some balast in the rear. my car is too light for rallying right now, so i may go for the 5/16's in the rear cause that will balance out the weight distribution a bit

yeah, like that. jsut make it fit the car better. (liek acutally attach to the core support and mimic the orgion air deflector deal while still protecting the engine. and i'd rock that to death.... however oil changes would be a pain.
