A new whistling noise

Hello,

I drive a 2007 Focus SE, I've recently started experiencing a whistiling noise, it's a very airy whistle, almost like a turbo, but lighter, I first noticed it when I was going around 30MPH around an interstate ramp, now it happens on and off, it gets louder if I press down on the acceleration,

another thing, when I press down hard on the acceleration, it almost makes a "popping" noise I guess you could say, could these be related?

that's interesting..... I may have a similar thing, but I like it so I don't bother. 02 SE though.

for me, pressing down on the accelerator hard gives off a minor chugging kinda sound and as the RPMs increase, it's like this winding up sort of noise..... as you said, like a turbo.

heh but my car sounds like it has a turbo anyway lol. between the spool-up sound and when I let off the throttle to shift after a slightly higher RPM, the exhaust gives off a whoosh of air similar to a blow off valve.

I dunno though, we have different engines... btw, to FF
