anyone raced a 200sx se-r?

has anyone else ever raced a 200sx se-r? i just raced one last night, twice. there is this neighborhood where there are no houses and just a long straight away prolly a mile or so long and we started on one end and raced to the other. we had this kid call it outside the first time and we started and i got a lot of wheel spin during 1st and we were about dead even until i hit 2nd, then i got quite a bit of wheel spin into 2nd and then i just started pulling away slowly and around 80-85 mph i started to slow down cuz i killed him by like 2-3 car lengths. then he said double or nothing and so we went again back to the other end. but in between i turned my defrost on. mistake. that is turn turned my ac on therefore, robbing me of alot of power. so we lined up again and my other friend that was with me wanted to see if he could do any better. so he drove the 200sx se-r. this time the kid that called it had to leave and so the kid in the other car called it from his car. i couldn't hear him say go so when i saw his tires spinning i started, so he got a big jump on me and i had to catch up i finally caught up kinda to his door and so he was about 2-3 feet in front of me. i could literally reach out the window and touch his rear quaterpanel. he was really close. then the rest of the way i couldn't catch up. i just stayed about even with him. i was pissed. then i realized on the way home i had my ac on. ohh yea neither of us had any mods. we were at about 90-95 in less than a mile. is that bad. anyone ever raced a 200sx se-r. they aren't slow by any means. ohh yea i won 10 bucks the first race then i had to give it back after the second one.

I have never raced a 200sx se-r, but you did a nice job keeping up with him and you still had on your a/c thats good. Do you have a atx or mtx? Cause if you have an mtx and you where that close the second time, then that was some serious driving! Nice Race

it would be more of a drivers race but if you had a 50 dollar 91 intake cam from a highport sr20de it would be a different outcome and bump the timing to 17* and that combo alone with give u like at least 10 whp across the board.
The se-r has the advantage launching if you know how since the VLSD helps quite a bit also the wieght factor

Stock for stock alot of cars will be right there it all depends on how it reacts to mods and a few small mods can make all the difference.

What were you launching at in the 200sx se-r ? and what were you launching at in the focus?

yea i think i have the mtx, not really sure. it is a 5 speed. the se-r was launching at around 4500 and i was launching around 4500 or 5000. what are you suppose to launch at? what are some good bolt ons for the se-r and for my focus. i know about exhaust and intake. which ones are the best? i don't want it to be to loud. just better performance. yea we are going to race again. for all the braging rights. ohh yea who do you think would win a race between my stock focus and a 94 civic v-tech sohc. i am going to race one. just want to know about how much to bet.

is the civic stock? and do you have the zetech motor? If yes to both you should be able to win granted you dont screw up on launch

For the sr20de

I said before get yourself a highport cam from an earlier 91-93 sr20de or a jdm sr20de
in the 200sx se-r you have a lowport which has a smaller cam profile for better emissions and a different head design. Swapping out the INTAKE cam from a highport and bumping your timing will get you close to 10 whp across the board it will easliy shave off .2 or more off your 1/4 mile times I will say this and the other thing if you stick to the mods I told me not many people will think you are modded it will not effect the sound of the car you will just feel the torque steer and revs so much better $50 cam

I forgot no wonder it was a close race you need to get a Infinity G20 ecu it is the same motor but will increase your redline to 7500 you can get one for 100 bucks maybe less

my 1994 nissan sentra se-r lowport with bolt ons i ran best with street tires at 2.2 60 ft and a 14.5 @ 93 I drive this car everyday and get 25 to 32 miles to the gallon full interior.

Oh ya in the se-r you shouldn't launch so high up instead hold it at 4k or 3800 and slip the clutch once you feel traction put the pedal down i bet at 4500 you spun alot of tire???
