2005 Rear Wheel Well ZX5

Something I've never seen before on a car: an indoor / outdoor type carpet lining the rear wheel well???

Normal? On the 2004 Foci? No problems with rain or wear?

New owner and just noticed. Just seems weird.

Do you mean like inside the fender looking at the wheels?

Peace...

Yes, inside the fender well looking above and behind and to the sides of the tires.

All my other vehicles have plastic or nothing.

I dunno, my 2003 has that carpeting though... really odd I think, not sure what function it serves.

Ok, at least it wasn't parts left off ;)

If you've got an 03 and have had no problems, then I'm sure it is probably fine.

Thanks for the reply.

all of them to date have had this. my 2000 had it, my 2002 has it. it's just your fender wall lining. but using this sorta "carpet" type of material is better on keeping road noise to a minimum, especially in the rain. absorbs the pounding better.

Probably does help with water noise, never thought of that -- but of course here in San Diego we do not know what rain is -- last year we had 8 inches of rain all year!

Oh good point TJ... I never knew why they had that, but it makes sense.
