2.5l i4 16v cylinder head on a 2.3 block?

Do you guys know if it would work to put a 2.5l i4 cylinder head on a 2.3 engine block i seen the 2.5 head on a 2009 ford escape and it looks the same from the 2.3.. im pretty new to engines so please someone help me out.

Use the 23 head you already have. What mods do you have? The 23 head will out flow any thing you want to do. Hey welcome to FF.

I have no mods what so ever not even a aftermarket intake im stock af .. all people i know hate focus's so i have no connects for my car.. i just heard putting a bigger cylinder head on your block will make your engine high compression ,,, thanx for replying..

Get a Steeda sri, do a bsd plug= remove the balance shafts & put a plug in the feed hole to the b/s. Lower it & you can add a svt front brake kit. Plus add a Steeda sts too.

The cool thing about these cars and the fact you have the 2.3 motor is that you can liven them up A LOT with simple bolt-ons. Cold air intake, header, catback exhaust and tune, along with simple suspension upgrades will make people not believe that it's a focus anymore.
