Question for the 08/09 owners..

Ok so I need to get my front bumper repainted, because some d-bag scraped my car while pulling into thier parking spot next to mine. Dont ask exactly how Im not sure I just saw it when I went on break at work. No inssurence infor left or anything. Ok so theres no dent or anything I got it priced two places are saying about $440 for it to be taken off and painted and such.

But heres the question. I have found an 09 coupe front bumper for sale about 130$ shipped then it would need to be well primed and a crack fixed then painted vapor silver. I like the 09 coupe better, does anyone know for sure that the 09 coupe front will or will not fit? thanks

i don't have a clear answer but i dont see why it wouldnt. the fenders are similar to those on the 09 if not the exact same so i doubt ford would change the way any of the bumpers are attached. i would see if maybe the seller of the bumper could send you photos of the inside of it to see if the holes would line up.

Yes the bumper will fit. I think the 2010 model year Focus sedans are going to start receiving the same sweet treatment the coupes got for 09 model year. Such as the cooler front and rear bumpers and all the dark chrome stuff.

Sounds like you guys all have the same thought that I do that it will fit, I mean ford wouldnt spend the money right now to change it dramatically. Well I will know soon, I will order today hopefully about a month from now I will have an 08 sedan with a 09 coupe front :) Thanks everyone

It probably would fit with no worries, though I would check first before you lay out the cash. Even though it has no bearing on this, I know on the Mazda 3 (Prior to the new 2010) the bumpers/grill weren't interchangeable between the sedan and the 5-door.

Let me know how it goes. I'd like to go with the coupe grill/bumper on my 09 sedan at some point. I think it looks a lot nicer.

I got photos of the inside and all the attachment spots only problem is I have never taken my bumper off to see how its attached so does anyone have a picture of the sedan's bumper. And how it attaches so I/we can compare?

BlueWave I will let you know, if it works out Ill have a new thread up with pictures of one of the first sedans on here with the coupe front. :) I hope this works that way someting good comes from something bad.

Cool. Yes, let us know how it goes.

How much do you figure the primer and painting will cost? Is that going to be to OEM specs? You don't want it to peel or flake later on. I had that happen to me with my old Nissan 200SX many years ago.

The primer and painting will be to oem spec, I just figured out well tonight that one of the guys I play basketball with in a mens league own a body shop in town, I told him about it and he said that he would do it for me for 250$ So that will be pretty sweet I should be able to get out of this under $400 and hav a the better bumper :) ::crosses fingers::
