In terms of the oil usage you've got going on there, make sure that your PCV tube isn't the source of the problem. Even with the baffle in there, the JR plate still does a less-than-great job of restricting the oil. It looks nice but that's about it. My engine has no issues with oil consumption or anything else but after my install of the JR plate it dumped a few ounces of oil into my IM. To remedy this I switched to a catch-can setup with a few upward bends (if the oil is going to make its way into the catch can, might as well make it work to get there). I wasn't having this issue before running the JR plate.

I'd suggest putting the stock PCV canister back on and running it for a while like that first to determine the source of the issue before you rip the whole thing apart. The low compression isn't good and should be addressed, but it might not be the [only] source of your oil problem.

not a bad suggestion, but I do have the hose running about 8" straight up from the crankcase, and it had been set up that way for about a month with no problems, then suddenly, under high load on a hot day, I felt a huge drop in power, and shortly thereafter noticed the oil problem.

my motor has to be taken apart. 95% sure the ringlands on #1 failed.

^^Ahhh, ok. My situation was a little different in that I swapped out the IM and PCV system and all of a sudden there was oil everywhere there shouldn't be. Either way best of luck and make sure to let us all know once you figure it out. Way too many problem threads on here with no conclusion, haha...
