Yes.
That's all I did. You can buy just the insert by itself too.
A friend borrowed my radio tools and the antenna adapter I had was a Walmart octopus with 6 different adapters in one.
I needed a set of radio tools and the antenna adapter.

nice work man! have you ever worked with fiberglass? seems like you went against the norm with this plastic-welding instead of just fiberglassing it.

i've got my wideband 'glassed where the ashtray was, but I'm going to be attempting to cram all 5 of my gauges + cd player into my bezel soon... tehhe, idk if it will fit or not.

anyway, your thoughts on fiberglass VS plastic-welding?

Mixed feelings on the fiberglass.
It's harder to finish since you can't hand sand it as easily as bondo.

I think I used the term plastic weld a little to liberally.
I melted the pieces together and filled in the gaps with extra plastic I had.
Technically that's welding though.

I did still have to bondo the piece to smooth it out.

interesting. I hadn't heard of that method before, I'm going to look further into it for sure.

i like fiberglass over bondo because it seems to resist cracking better... but the plastic-welding sounds like it wins because there are no plastic-fiberglass seams

nope, just fiberglass & sanding. it took me a few days because I had to let the fiberglass cure really well before sanding & re-applying fiberglass, then waiting for it to cure, etc. if you are good at it, you'll get it right after the first iteration.
