also, could this work with only bondo work? or was plastic welding necessary?

Yeah, if you started with long strand fiberglass filler (kitty hair) it would work.
I like the plastic welding because it's stronger and there's less chance of cracking.

ya, i was just wondering because i've been looking for a good idea for a gauge mount for awhile and this gives me inspiration =)

whatd u use to fill the bigger gaps in the plastic?

k i found it. since i already have an aftermarket stereo installed with a kit, could i just take it out, keep the wiring the same, and use this? or do u have to use the wiring that comes with that kit
